Center Based Services

Ages: 18 months-6 years old

Sessions: 8:15-12:00, 1:00-4:00

Marshfield and Plymouth, MA

Our play-based and child-focused center is what makes The Playful Place unique. Our team excels in making your child feel special, silly and like the kid that they are! Our center based program was designed to set our clients up with success for their futures. We provide a mix of individualized programs and whole group instructions so that when they age out of our program or meet criteria for discharge, they are familiar with classroom routines and expectations. Through naturalistic teaching and programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis, we focus on expanding and strengthening your little ones communication, social, self help, motor, and attending skills.

We never want to change who your child is and what makes them who they are. Our goals are your goals. After the initial parent meeting and assessment, our BCBA’s design an in depth, individualized behavior support plan to help decrease any behaviors that your child may engage in that could be harmful to themselves or others.

Parent Consult and Coaching

During our parent consultation classes we will dive into effective tools for your family to use at home. This course is designed to give parents and caregivers the necessary tools to make effective behavior change programs maintain and generalize to their everyday setting. A family-based approached is the most effective strategy to ensure maximum progress and skill building. This is also designed to be a time where parents and caregivers and ask all questions, update the BCBA on areas that they would like to work on, make modifications to the behavior plan based on current progress, and for a chance for the BCBA to discuss all of the amazing progress your children are making at their goals! Trainings can be done in person or virtually using Zoom.

Social Skills Groups:

Ages: 5-8 years old

Location: Plymouth Center

Time: 3:30-5:00

These groups are designed for all children. A diagnosis is not required to join our sessions. This is a great way for your little to play, learn and form friendships with others of similar age. Programs are created by our BCBA and graduate students to focus on goals to help children learn how to communicate with others, be team players, sharing, manage and express those big feelings, and so much more!

Coordination of Care

Our BCBA’s collaborate closely with other specialties to ensure we are practicing a team approach. Other specialities include but are not limited to Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Neurologist, and Classroom Teachers. Upon request and approval, your child’s BCBA can join in on IEP meetings.
